Is it true that admission to AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS courses will be through NEET-UG from 2020?
Is it true that admission to AIIMS and JIPMER will be through NEET from next year?
There are some media reports in last couple of days that Union Cabinet has approved the National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill where they are proposing a common final year MBBS exam, to be known as NEXT (National Exit Test) in place of NEET-PG for admission to post-graduate medical courses.
They are also reporting that the National Eligibility Entrance Test i.e. NEET will also be applicable to institutes of national importance like AIIMS in order to achieve a common standard in medical education sector in the country.
But I am not sure they are specifically talking about NEET-UG. There is NO OFFICIAL NEWS that AIIMS and JIPMER will be scrapped and their MBBS admissions will be on the basis of NEET-UG from next year.
So don’t panic and continue with your NEET/AIIMS preparation as per your schedule. Any new changes about NEET will be updated here : NEET-UG 2020 Exam Details
Edit:
Admission to MBBS courses in AIIMS and JIPMER will be through the common national entrance test NEET-UG from 2020.
