Cracking IIT JEE as the criteria for deciding which board to take, may not be the right way to go. There are pros and cons of both CBSE and ICSE. To crack IIT, it’s recommended to join a separate coaching, in that case the school board won’t matter much, whether it’s CBSE or ICSE.
Many people believe that NCERT books of CBSE board is the key to crack entrance exams like JEE. Well, the difference in ICSE and CBSE syllabus is diminishing. ICSE has already made changes to realigned Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics syllabus of class 11 and 12 with that of the CBSE.
ICSE is comparatively tougher than CBSE, because of the diverse syllabus in the ICSE board. But mainly it depends on a student’s state of mind. Ability to study difficult concepts and solve complex problems helps in cracking the IIT JEE exam.
